Milena was born in Santo Domingo de los Colorados, but the family moved to Quito shortly afterwards. She is the youngest member of the family. She likes studying and has found it difficult not having face-to-face lessons during the pandemic. She has particularly missed the dance classes and presentations wearing traditional Ecuadorian dress, which the school organised.

Graça was born in Beira in 2006. She lives in the Macurungo neighborhood with her mother, two sisters and two brothers. One day in 2016, her father went to work. On his way back home, he disappeared until today. Graça loves studying and her preferred subject is Biology. Her dream is to become a nurse and help her family. She is a very humble and calm girl. After school, she helps her mother selling vegetables. The family's house has low-cost electricity and no piped drinking water that they have to buy @ 10 MZN / 20 liters. Her income of 1000 MZN is not enough to make month ends.

Muthini is the third born in a family of six. Her father is a drunkard and abusive and has neglected the family leaving the mother the only sole bread winner. She currently does casual jobs and the burden of taking care of the large family has overwhelmed her. Muthini is very determined and aggressive to achieve her dreams and become a doctor in future. Doing thorough revision and consulting with her teachers earned her a trump card. She likes reading storybooks and believes that hard work pays and never goes unrewarded. Muthini loves reading storybooks.

Agustin is from Cancha Cancha, a rural community that is home to only about 25 families, sitting at 4000 metres above sea level. To complete high-school, Agustin would walk three hours one way from his community, every day, climbing up and down a mountain, completing his homework en route. He is one of eight siblings in a Quechua-speaking one-bedroom household. Because of Mosqoy’s support and Agustin’s top-of-class status, he will be studying Tourism at CENFOTUR in Cusco - the most prestigious tourism institute in Cusco, accredited across the nation! Agustin wishes to set an example for his siblings and the other youth in his community, and to prove to himself that - despite the adversity that comes your way, and the few back steps you may have to do, “Yes, you can.”

Sabina is the last-born child in a family of three. She lives with her ailing mother and her sisters in a rented house in the Wamunyu market as they have no land. Her mother is a tailor, but her health condition has always deterred her from working for long hours. She is the only bread winner, and with two children in school the burden of paying school fees has overwhelmed her. Sabina is very bright and despite the challenges in her family she is determined to succeed in life. She dreams to be a surgeon in future to help the needy in the society. To her determination knows no barrier. She loves dancing.

Briana is a teenager at Hillside School in Eldoret, Kenya. She lives with her mother, father, two sisters, and two grandmothers. Briana hopes that she will be able to continue her education into a good career, but she is not sure what yet.
